What is your background?
When I was at college I was obsessed with lingerie. All of the work I created would always somehow lead to the female form. Whether it be life drawings, nude paintings or drawing lingerie. In my final project of my first year, I made knickers.
It was my first term of second year where my lecturer suggested I look into a course specifically created for lingerie design named Contour Fashion at De Montfort University in Leicester. I completed my degree and graduated with a First Class Honours in 2017.
After I studied lingerie, I then got accepted onto a business incubator program at De Montfort University where I learnt more on the business side of things.
Why did you create your own brand?
I have always wanted my own brand as I desire creative freedom.
This idea became stronger when I was at university and we had to write an essay. We had 5 titles we could choose from. I chose ‘Can the Fashion industry be Truly Sustainable’? I became obsessed with the idea of sustainability and after I handed in that essay and finished the academic year I spent the whole summer researching into sustainable and ethical fashion. I knew then that my brand had to have a much deeper meaning.
I could fuse my two passions together to create my dream business!
Where does your inspiration come from?
Nature! All my sketchbooks are filled with everything from flowers, leaves, pinecones and my most recent sketchbook is filled with the inspiration for the current collection; moths!
How would you describe your personal style?
Bohemian with a little bit of rock’n’roll.
What do you do outside of work?
My favourite things to do are drawing, looking at inspiration from fashion editorials, yoga, going for country walks and spending time with friends, usually at the pub!
