The Fitting Room: Your Guide to Bras

Finding the perfect lingerie fit is just as important as choosing a beautiful design. The right fit should feel comfortable, supportive, and effortless—that’s why we’re here to guide you every step of the way.

Since every body is unique, measurements alone won’t always guarantee the perfect fit. That’s why, in addition to measuring, we’ll take you through essential fit checks to help you find the right size and feel truly confident in your lingerie.

Step 1: Measure your underband

Why this matters: Your underband provides most of your support, so getting it right is key.

What to do:

  • Wear an unlined, wired bra for the most accurate results.
  • Use a soft measuring tape and wrap it around your ribcage, directly under your bust.
  • Keep the tape snug but not tight—it should feel secure without digging in.

Fit check: If the band feels too tight, you may need to size up. If it rides up at the back, you may need a smaller band size.

Step 2: Measure your bust

Why this matters: This helps determine your cup size.

What to do:

  • Wrap the tape around the fullest part of your bust (usually at nipple level).
  • Keep the tape horizontal and gently fitted—not too loose, not too tight.
  • Note this measurement and compare it with your underband measurement using our bra size calculator.

Fit check: This gives you a starting size, but breast shape can affect the final fit, so we’ll adjust next.

Step 3: Use our bra sizing calculator to determine your size

Step 4: Check the fit of your band

Why this matters: This tells you if the band and cups are working together correctly.

What to do:

  • The centrefront (the piece between the cups) should sit flat against your chest.
  • If it’s lifting away, your band may be too big or your cups may be too small.

Fit check: If the centre front doesn’t sit flat, try a smaller band or a larger cup size.

Step 5: Check the fit of the cups

Why this matters: A good cup fit means proper support and no spillage or gaping.

What to do:

  • The underwire should sit comfortably under your bust, not on top of any breast tissue.
  • The seam of the cup (if there is one) should generally align with your nipple.

Fit check:

  • If the cups are digging in at the top, size up in the cup.
  • If there's gaping or excess fabric, size down in the cup.
  • If the wire is pressing into breast tissue, try a larger cup size.
